Hayden Kelly

HE/HIM

PHD (EDUCATION)

Why this role?

I am a fantastic communicator, passionate, driven and interested in the vice-president role. My experience within the realms of university education, peer leadership and project management make me an ideal candidate.

My Experience

I graduated from UNSW in 2019 with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology. I completed a Master of High Performance Sport at ACU in 2021 before commencing a PhD (Education) at the Callaghan campus. I studied project management through the USYD's CCE and worked for Diabetes NSW & ACT/Diabetes Australia for 3 years as an accredited exercise physiologist. Currently I am working on the Resistance Training for Teens (RT4T) project with the Centre for Active Living and Learning (CALL) investigating the most effective implementation model to increase program scale up across 90 schools in the Hunter, New England, Central Coast and Greater Sydney Region. I'm a member of Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) student society and Asia Pacific Society of Physical Activity (ASPA) early career researcher network.

What do you hope to achieve for UON Students?

I hope to bring increased access to opportunities that promote health and wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity.
I want to bring back incentives for campus based study following isolation with the influence of virtual platforms.
