Why this role?
I am confident that I hold the skills, organisational knowledge, relationships and vision to serve as President. I am committed to principles of good governance, accountability and respectful collaboration.
My Experience
I have held the role of VP (Experience & Engagement) since October 2020, through enormous change including the University restructure and COVID lockdowns. As such, I have extensive experience in UNSA and University processes and how to best effect change. I have represented student interests on the SRC and various University committees and built strong governance skills as a board member of UNSA and NUservices. I have broad leadership and teamwork experience from SRC committees, working groups and club executive roles.
This year I have worked collaboratively on initiatives including increased student and club consultation; UNSA’s NSSS response; Community Garden Management Plan; planning and assisting at major events (O Week, Pride Week, Glow Party, UNSA Ball).
What do you hope to achieve for UON Students?
As President, I will champion diverse student voices through increased consultation and strong advocacy on student issues. I will continue campaigning for more student spaces on all campuses; increased food options, events and support for clubs; improved welfare services (both generally and for equity groups, international and postgrad students); increased flexibility around online learning.
