HE/HIM
B COMMUNICATION /B LAWS (HON)
Why this role?
As Newcastle Convenor, I’m a determined advocate for students. I love that being Newcastle Convenor allows me to chat directly with students about their issues, and work on fixing these issues immediately.
My Experience
G’day! I’m Sam and I’m re-nominating for the position of Newcastle Convenor. I’m standing again as I feel I’ve still got more to offer to students. I’ve lived in the Newcastle region my entire life, so I came to the University of Newcastle because I love being a local. I believe my actions over the past year as Newcastle Convenor prove me capable more than my words could. I’ve been involved with more UNSA barbecues than I could count, spoken to so many students at events that I’ve frequently lost my voice, ensured a significant increase to NUspace opening hours, and improved student feedback tools at UNSA.
What do you hope to achieve for UON Students?
If re-elected for 2023, I aim to improve the reliability of campus shuttle buses and create or improve more social spaces around campus. These goals aren’t just wishful thinking, they’re realistic promises which I know I can deliver on over the forthcoming year.
